I love a good baking mix, don't you?

Especially if you have to make gluten free, you end up with many different kinds of flour, which you might not use that often. So I am always recommending a few of my favourites when you have to bake for an allergic friend. They have gotten a lot better.

Try the rye bread mix or the brownie mix on this picture, for example.

Obviously it is even better if you 'enhance' the recipe a little bit. I always add extra cocoa, salted butter, a bit of extra flaky sea salt and a mix of lactose free cream and milk. And it is really a winner. You can try nuts and almond slices or dried fruit on top.

The imagination or the allergies are the limit, but with a few of these mixes in the house you can include your allergic family members and friends — and I tell you, no one will know the difference.

Go find your favourite to use and recommend. I have this friend who sometimes finds new mixes and brings them over to try. The last one was a gluten free scones mix. I cannot wait to try it.
